I did this project for a family that wanted better space for their childs toys and books. I built the unit in 5 separate pieces. There are two cabinets, two corner shelves, and the middle bench with flip up lid for storage. I lined the bench with masonite hardboard for durability. The stiles and rails are poplar while the door panels and boxes etc.. are MDF. The bead detail is repeated in the bench for asthetics to match the cabinet doors. Inside the cabinets and corner shelves are adjustable shelf pins. This unit was designed to be removed without having to repair any surfaces on the walls or floor. This is why you'll see the extra trim pieces on the walls etc... The owners wanted the option of taking the unit with them if they moved.
