This is a vanity I built for one of our customers. I thought it was pretty cool, cool enough to share at least. I think my boss bid this at $3500!

Wow, Jason. Very Nice. Tell us a little more about the adornments and how you came by them. What is the finish. How would you like to sell all you could build at $3500 a pop? Sweet work, huh?

How about me making that a picture of the month. Pick out your favorite or link to another one and I'll put in on the front page.

Wow, thanks Don! I should probably mention that this is not my design. My old boss still draws things up for our shop and this is one of his designs. He designs lots of really cool stuff like this.

About the box... its pretty much all maple ply construction, the doors are slabs with applied panels and some decorative applied molding around the panels, hinges are Salice soft close hinges, those things are cool. pretty much the same with the drawer faces, slab with aplied moulding, soft close slides.
All the moulding wrapping the top and bottom is maple or poplar, I forget, but the little flowery design is not carved, its molded MDF or something, I think its moulded right on the moulding. I could take a pic if you like. I think that stuff runs about $250-$300 a stick, I used two. I think they are from a place called White River or something like that, I have a hard time remembering stuff like that. And then there are a few apliques which I think are from the same place. The sides are just aplied moulding. It will be topped with some kind of cool grannite with one of those sinks that sits on top of the vanity.

The finish is a crackle finish with glaze then laquer top coat.

If you make this pic. of the month, just pick one of the pics from my Flickr link that I posted. Whichever looks best.:D
