I just finished my first "on my own" cabinet job. The guy is picking up the cabs today. I am a bit nervous, I hope everything goes together with no problems. Haven't had much time for anything else been working 15-17 hrs a day!

Figuring out what the heck is wrong with the lights in the shop... Dad's convinced it's one of the lights, and I'm convinced it's one of the 3-way switches.

There's a good chance there will be an all-out rumble before we get it figured out. :D

3-way switches will make you fight with yourself.

I'm still working on the front door project. Last night I had to get out the 20 ton bottle jack to support the corner of the upper floor while I changed out headers and support. It was one of those "man" moments. I'll get some pictures posted.

I've now been put in charge of organizing the thousands of pics we have from the past couple houses we built... Good news for the WWB crowd, 'cause I'll probably post a few! :D

I just finished a Stickley style freestanding walnut kitchen island. I saw a picture in a catalog and drew up the plans from that. It is 36" wide by 54" long by 38" high. One side has three top drawers and two larger bottom drawers and two shelves on one end. The other side has a 12" overhang for sitting.

It took a lot of pondering on how to do things so it has taken me almost three months to build it. There are several design flaws that I see but most people do not.

We get the granite top next Monday.

I am looking for bar stool plans but they seem to be pretty scarce. I have some plans in my mind after looking at them in stores and catalogs. I bought some ash to make a prototype. I wanted to make them out of cherry but the committee out voted me.

The committee consists of my wife.
