Thought I'd pass this tip along. I finally bought a portable chop saw stand after much procrastination. I ended up buying the Ryobi model over the DeWalt. I usually favor DeWalt but for this purchase I couldn't justify the price difference.

The DeWalt model is $219 where the Ryobi is $99. The DeWalt model is mostly aluminum and light weight. The Ryobi is mostly steel and a bit heavier but not so much so that it isn't easy to throw in the back of the truck and take to the job site.

The Ryobi unit is very sturdy, extremely solid and has a lot of adjustability. Both models have slide extensions and are quite nice. For $99 you can't go wrong with the Ryobi. Surprised me too. :D

Got a Delta model that is very simliar to the Ryobi for the same price, and due to the better half's never ending home improvement project list it has become the most used tool I have.

Ever regret letting your wife know you could make stuff?

This can work in your favor. Just tell her "Yup, I can do that...just need to get a new tool to do it right."

This can work in your favor. Just tell her "Yup, I can do that...just need to get a new tool to do it right."

And that is where the contention starts, as she has absolutely no clue as to the proper usage of tools, and hates spending money for anything other than needed materials.
