Here's a mirror that I built for a gal at work for her daughter for her birthday. Made of curly maple with mahogany bases. It was the third of three and the better of them. I'm laying off mirrors (curly maple) for awhile now. They get to be tedious.

Well done, Todd. I'm sure you got plenty of points with that.

As a side note, I looked up the definition of chevel;

Che*val"\ (she*v[.a]l"), n.; pl. Chevaux (-v[=o]"). [F. See Cavalcade.] A horse; hence, a support or frame.

Many may have thought that Chevel related to a particular style of mirror, such as Chippendale or Federal, it simply describes a mirror such as the ones you've built.

Did you make the design?

All the best, Don

Doh!! I've been getting that name wrong for awhile now. Thanks for pointing that out. I now wonder how many people have been chuckling about that. As for the design, yeah, it's my own. This one is the third of three and the better of them. The exposed nailheads are those wrought iron head types and are there for decoration but, being 1 1/2" long, they also serve as a nail.
