I am a new member, and this is my first post. I'm also working on my first "indoor" project -- a storage cabinet for my wife's jewelry making supplies, with raised panel doors.
I bought wrap-around hinges, because that's what the plan called for. Since the hinge has no exposed parts when closed, how do I mark the cabinet and doors for the hinge screw pilot holes?
Thanks.
Hey, muffin. There are several ways to go about the process. If you are making a new cabinet completely then you can alway pre-machine for the hinges while the cabinet is in parts. This will give you the opportunity to work align the faceframe with the door before it is assembled.
If you can't do that, then attach the hinges to the door and "open" the hinge, hold the door up to the jamb and mark your position. You may even want to place spacer blocks under the door to hold the proper reveal on the botton (and top).
A third way is simply accurate measurement. Study your hinge, most likely you will find a method of adjustment built into the hinge plates/body. Good luck. Post some pictures and others may be able to help you through the project.
All the best, Don

Thanks, Don. Method #2 works for me. These hinges don't require a mortise, so I can attach them to the doors and then shim and block the doors into position and drill the cabinet.
