View Full Version : Welcome to the newest woodworking forum!
Hey, Guys! Welcome to the Internet's newest woodworking forum. Help us get this party started by telling us about your latest woodworking project or a project that you would like to get going.
Woodworking covers such a large area that I'm sure we'll attract people with rich and varied interests. Let us know what yours is.
The more talent and expertise you have the better. If you're just starting out or have a little home project that's gone sour, post the particulars and let's see if someone can lend a hand.
Anyway, this area of the forum is general discussions, but don't worry too much about it, you can always post here regardless of the woodworking topic.
Look forward to hearing about your projects, your ideas and most of all your stories. I'm sure many of you have a lot to share. Let's have some fun . . .
All the best, Don

This is a very cool site. I'm glad I found it. I've never formally learned woodworking, but rather self taught. Hope to learn a lot here.
Cheers
Thank for joining, Woodmaster. Self taught can be the most rewarding. Let us know what you've been up to, what's your next project?

My wife saw a table she liked for her side of the bed. My plans shorten it to fit. I have completed turning the legs. I use South American mahogany. Great stuff for turning.
Hey, Richard. Sounds like a good excuse for doing some turning. Show us a pic when you get it done.

Hey Don, this brings up a good point. How about a "Turning" section in the forums list.
Good idea? Bad? Possibly genius? I dunnno :D
Sounds good, Dag. I've been asking a lot from the admin guys lately. Let me give them a little room. Help me remember in a week or two and I'll see if I can get it added.
Thanks, Don

Hi, I just discovered this site and I'm eager to see what it brings. I am a strong believer (and practitioner) of free information and resource sharing. I am a professional custom woodworker in Oregon, and I have had my own shop for 13 years. I would never refer to myself as a 'master', I'm always learning. Look forward to sharing. If you're interested in what I do, my website is markmeyerwoodworking.com. I'd enjoy any feedback.

Checked out your website, your pieces are fantastic. I wish I had .000001% of the talent you have. Anyway, jump on in, there seems to be something going on around here all the time. Looking forward to the discussions.

Thanks for the welcome and the kind comments regarding my work. I look forward to seeing what other people are doing. It never fails to be inspiring to be exposed to the creative ways in which many different people approach a basically similar project, like cabinets, say. I especially relate to those who make do with just a few basic tools and are able to do what many professionals would never consider without their shop full of toys. I learned with just a few basic hand tools, when I was a teenager, and am largely self-taught. Patience and ingenuity go a heck of a long way. THEN, when you get hold of a few REALLY GOOD tools....
