Have you ever built a custom ceiling?

Hey, Guys. Here's a couple of pics of our vaulted dining room ceiling. The original was T&G Cedar, real dark and gloomy. The was a lot of fun, but a lot of work too. Bandsawn ribs from 2x material. They were cut on a custom radius jig, hundreds of parts. Then mitre sawn and screwed to the exisiting overhead floor joists. 1/2" rock took the bend naturally and it was screwed into place. The finish is handworked, floated and sponged drywall compound. The "exposed" bricks are real brick veneers, mimicking fallen plaster from a brick vaulted ceiling.
