I'll enter this for the picture of the month competition. This was for a family of five who all played music. They had stacks of music books laying on the floor and wanted a couple of shelves to put them on. I was also told to 'do something fun'. So I did.
The whole unit mimics the grand staff on sheet music. The shelves are slabs of local walnut; the stands are also local walnut; the clef notes are eastern cherry; the staff lines are curly maple. The stands are 4 pieces with the horizontal sections attached to the verticals with mortise & tenons, then pinned with cherry dowels. The maple staff lines were notched into the stands.

The contest for picture of the month is heating up. This is very hot stuff. I'm glad Don has to pick.
Music, design & woodworking tallents.
mm are you holding other tallents to spring later?
I'm low on the food chain, all I completed this month is a maple hammer.
Great work.
