Hey everyone, especially Don:

I want to build some speakers for my shop/basement and Don, you mentioned that you have built some for about $200 and they sounded great. I would like to shortcut the "learing curve" so to speak so I can enjoy building them...
Would you or anyone else that is doing this please pass along some plans and part numbers for the drivers, cross overs and anything else I might need to build my first set?

Thanks in advance for any and all help and suggestions.

Take care,

Dan in Atlanta

Check out my website in my signature to see some of the models I've built. Just go to the home theater section. I've built probably a dozen pairs of different speakers and 6 subwoofers. I really like www.gr-research.com (http://www.gr-research.com) designs. Reasonably priced kits and they sound incredible. Check out the AV-1 or AV-2 design.

Thanks for the link and tip..

I think I got you and Don mixed up.. :)

Anyway, take care and I will post photos as I go along.

Thanks again.

No problem. I usually recommend people don't try to design their own speaker right off. Network design is tremendously tedious and difficult without proper measuring equipment and anechoic chamber. It is usually best to build a design someone has come up with that has the experience in network design. GR Research is just such a place. Danny is the owner and really great to deal with.

Everywhere I've seen, the GR Research designs get very good reviews. Personally, I have no experience with them, but their designs get an A+ in my book!
