Has anyone sprayed wb paint or latex paint with a fugi 4 system? If so would you mind telling me how you set your gun up and what %to thin a gallon of paint.
Thanks

Never used a fugi 4 system but have sprayed acrylic latex with my HVLP gun. I usually thin it to just a bit thicker than milk to start and adjust according to the weather/humidity etc...
Hey, nailgun and welcome to the forum. I have a Fuji system (Turbine HVLP) and have only used it for high quality oil paints like Impervo from Benjamin Moore. Fantastic machine, can spray millwork inside with virtually no overspray. It's been a couple years since I fired it up though.
Since I had the manual handy I looked in it. Looks like your tip and needle size is going to be around 4 or 5, the standard air cap is a number 3. (for US) The viscosity cup they give you allows for a 40-50 second emptying time for proper thinning.
Now with that being said it is really going to be an experiment to get things right. With latex you can't go wrong by starting thick and slowly adding more water (or whatever the paint calls for, some use alcohol I think) until you get a good spray pattern, the material flows out on the surface without being too runny, and you get a good coverage.
One of the tricks that I use with latex (and this is in the manual) is to thin the material with a product called Floetrol (from the Flood Company) this is a little like "retarder" for lacquer and allows the material to lay down better, pull out better, and also thins the product, I would use this material almost exclusively in latex spraying.
The Fuji system is very strong and will spray just about anything, don't be afraid to waste a cup or two to get things like you like them.
If you've lost your manual I might be able to scan a couple of pages of mine for you.
All the best, Don
