How's the weather where you're at? We've been having some very strange weather this winter down in Southern Indiana. It'll be down in the teens and spitting snow at the beginning of the week, and then by the end, it'll be in the sixties, flooding, and have tornadoes by the end of the week!

Sheesh, kl0wn - nothing that dramatic here. It's been a mild and dry winter so far. Sorry.

North Florida, dawjr

As soon as I get my degree, I'm seriously contemplating rethinking my locale. Florida has some nice price tags on my profession, and I'll have the degree & work experience needed to jump into it head first down there... And not at entry-level! :D

10 BELOW ZERO right now
Had some light snow but when it's this cold the air is too dry to snow allot.
Florida is a good choice. I was thinking of Arizona for winter then Alaska in the summer.

Y'all are crazy. Why not just move to Texas and have the best of all worlds?

Good question. Wish I had a good answer. Summers in Alaska I guess. They're the best if you like to hunt, fish, & outdoor stuff, daylight most all summer. Winters though, I'd rather be in texas.

Well, we got a .5" snow last night... Turned my 20 minute drive to work into a 2+ hour one! Fuggin' Evansville drivers! I've probably seen 200+ cars/trucks/SUVs/minivans in the median this morning... Yet there were Mustangs having zero problems because they were paying attention, and not driving like idiots!

Texas weather is great. Since most of my work is construction and remodeling, we get to work all year without to many down days.
It's been running about 30's to 60's with a few snaps of below 30. Can't really complain when I see what most of you northern folks put up with.

Well, we're not bad today; going to be in the 60's. But tomorrow a front moves in, and we drop to the teens with freeze rain turning to snow. As the old saying goes in Oklahoma, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes.

Been snowing and icy lately in the Seattle area. Been down into the 20's at night and 40ish mid day. Pretty normal for here.

Well sure enough, we went from 60's yesterday to 40's and dropping with rain today. Supposedly turning to snow after 5:00 tonight.

We're supposed to get another small snow tonight, so it'll probably be blizzard conditions tomorrow! (think relative) And then by the middle of next week, I've heard close to 60 again!

We warmed up 30 degrees. It;s 20 deg now & we are getting snow.
The Weather man said you "lower 48" guys are going to get the cold air that just left Alaska. Man, get your coats & feltpack boots ready.
TheKlown : The driver here are no better than at your place. I see 4X4s upsidedown & in the ditch all the time. They think 4 wheel drive means they have more friction to the road. More 4X4s stuck than 2 wheel drives. We only have one road North & South so when they wreck, it gets backed up for miles & there's no other route to take.
Picture for Don, this is snow

Gotta go plow snow & MY GLUE CAME IN TODAY!!!! 3 weeks shipping. Maybe I will get to work on the workbench again. If I can remember what I was doing.

Having 4wd = Having Divine Powers... Duh! :p

Actually 4 wheel drives do have more friction to the road when accelarating. What you are seeing is people that have no business owning a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

4 wheel drive is excellent for driving in snow and ice. I've been everywhere in horrible conditions with my 4x4 rigs. But then again I know how to drive on snow and ice. I could have gone most places with front wheel drive as well.

NOTHING is good for stopping on ice. People alway race down hill on icy roads and creep up the hills (well they try). They really need to concentrate on physics in school.

Anyway, 4 wheel drive vehicles are much more capable on snowy roads if you know how to drive one and know how to drive on snowy roads to begin with.

4wd is a blessing compared to my truck... My truck is a 2wd reg. cab short box with a 350 and wide tires and right at 4000lbs... Not exactly meant to see slick. Whereas the Tahoe is 6000lbs+,auto-4wd, anti-lock brakes, and a bit longer wheelbase, so it's about as good as it gets (IMO) as far as the vehicle goes, but it still doesn't mean I get to jump in and go as fast as possible... Now why can't the rest of humanity figure that out?

Crazy weather. Today we are getting rain. 42 degrees. When the rain hits the roads it's instantly turning to an ice skating rink. Glad I don't have to drive anywhere tomorrow morning. 4X4 with studs or not, I'm staying home.
4 days ago, it was -10. Colder than Green Bay.
(52 degree increase) Now it's raining!.
We Alaskan's love global warming.

Here in Tennessee it's gotten down to 13 a couple of times. The week after that it was in the 70's. I got up this morning, 56, at noon, 46, now it's 30 and snowing. I'm with Bogy, bring on the global warming. Hurry up summer.
