Not known for being the sharpest knife around; I had a vise that needed some work today. A piece needed welding I thought would be easy and quick. Typically I've isolated metal projects with wood. But today was a pure dumbass day. Broke out the ole Lincoln and went to town. Little did I realize that this shouldn't be done with nice dried hardwood and sawdust but 5' away. The fire was kinda cozy, but not necessarily something you want INSIDE your shop.

Density is not only part of lumber, but in the head too. It's embarrassing to be this stupid, but wanted to share, its better to think, before you act.

Hey, Terry. I have a multi-duty shop too. Welding is something I'm prone to do at the drop of a hat as well. I know you are in the cold right now. I'm lucky enough to open the garage doors and roll the operation outside, I simply can't stand the fumes in the shop later.

But, you're right. It'll burn inside just as easy as outside.

I've been a bonehead this week too, see my post on the battery situation. http://www.woodworkingbuzz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46
