I haven't got my Woodcraft catalog yet but shop the on-line catalog. Was going to order the K-3 jig from them but found it cheaper at Amazon. ($10 cheaper & free shipping).
What are the "must have woodworking catalogs" for the woodshop?
My store choice here is HD, Loews & a small Sears to buy quick. (Quality & selection seem a bit short to me). I plan to buy woodworking tools for my new shop as I can & catalogs sure help. I don't even have a hand plane.
PS (i'm a cheapskate & don't mind used)

I use three for my stuff. Outwater, Rockler, Woodworker's Supply. This is for stuff that I can't get at Lowe's or because what they do carry is inferior.

Jamestowndistributers.com (http://Jamestowndistributers.com) had the glue Don referenced for large glue projects. Dap, Weldwood, plastic resin glue (Rockler & woodcraft didn't) Looks like a good place for marine supplies, hardware & finishes.

Thanks Joe. GO STEELERS. Bummer that Fast Willie got broke.
I just got the Leevally (http://www.leevalley.com) catalog.
Looks like good quality stuff.
Going to order the vises for my workbench from them.
The twin for the end & quick release front.

Be careful of shipping charges. I just ordered weldwood plastic resin glue for $28.00 and they are charging me $35.00 to ship it. Trying to recall the order now. Found it elsewhere cheaper.

If it's tools. The Grizzly catalog has tools you can dream about.

Leevally: Good service! :)
I ordered the vises for my workbench from Leevally. I ordered the Twin screw end vise & quick release large front vise & got them on Jan 22nd but got the large front vise (not quick release). I called them & 3 days later the Quick release vise was at my door with a return shipping lable to send the wrong one back.
Good service. Especially for Alaska.

Where I grew up, in WV, it was a Sears catalog. More of a 3' X 3' house. The index pages were always used first. No lights to read with, not that you stayed in there very long anyway:rolleyes:. (Not the good old days)

Grizzlyimports.com is my first link. Next year maybe a belt/disk sander:)
Good thing I don't have 3 phase power to the shop! I'd be broke.

Darn good catalogs mentioned in this thread.

Another one that I use alot is Grainger. It's not a total woodworking catalog, but it has lots of stuff that use for woodworking and other things.

Harbor Freight and Grizzly's catalogs, but will only use them for tools (etc) that are rarely used or do not require accuracy. I got my sandblast unit and cabinet from Harbor freight. I have six double ended grinders that came from Grizzly. The 12 felt and grinding and wire wheels all come from more 'quality controlled' suppliers.

I look through my Woodcraft catalog, but since we have one about four miles away, I usually just go to the store and give them my first born!

There are three levels out there... 1. Low end... 2.The stuff most of us can afford... and 3. high end. I will never (EVER AGAIN) buy a tool that I am going to use a lot that is not upper middle-to-high-end. It just does not pay in the long run. As an example... I paid $79 for my 14" metal cut off saw from Harbor Freight. I paid $700 for my 12" Dewalt sliding miter saw. I use the metal saw once a week (max). I use the Dewalt at least 50 times a week.

Most catalogs are specific to certain styles of woodworking... Turning, Crafts, Furniture, etc. Rockler and Woodcraft are the obvious exceptions.

Must be nice to have a Woodcraft store close. I'd be broke setting up shop if I had one here.
I couldn't do without the catalogs in Alaska. I alway compare shop online though. Many times I find the same item to the brand name on amazon cheaper & sometimes I get free shipping.
You're right about buying quality.
