I am looking for a simple idea to make a swivel or rotating DVD storage cabinet or rack. I would like it to be four (4) sided and capable to store as many as 1000 DVD movie cases. I have designed one myself, but I am hoping to find a better way to make it. Any ideas would be helpful.

Regards,

Hey Doc, the only tip I can think of is using a lazy-susan for the rotation. And making sure the base is heavy enough so it doesn't topple over.

Good luck with it, post pics when you can, and welcome. :)

Can't say I have any brilliant ideas on the subject (nor any other time), but I'd be interested to see what you come up with, as I'm contemplating something similar. :D

Use your idea. That's what makes "building it yourself" special.
Good old 'American ingenuity" is remarkable.
Who knows, your idea my catch on, better mouse trap so to speak.

Hey, Doc. Here is a quickie sketch of one that should be easy to build and offer a lot of storage. You can make it as tall or short as you like. People get hung up on making a slot for every single case and I'm not convinced that is necessary. Place a keyblock every ten cases or so, an easy handful. You can grab that handful and sort through them, then put them back.

Good luck and let us know what design you decide to build.

All the best, Don
