I just finished reading the book "The Workbench" by L Schleining.
I have a stack of 3/4 & 4/4 - 8' maple , Wild Cherry, Red oak & White oak boards (some 6/4 & a few 8/4 )I got from my Dad's sawmill in West Virginia about 12 years ago (he past away several years ago). I plan on making the top out of the maple & cherry, 2" thick.
I do mostly furniture, headboards, shadow boxes but just recently retired & built a shop
so I plan to attempt any & many projects.
Some question are:
What is the size of the square dogs? (I was going to make the 3/4" X 1" holes, at a 3 deg angle, every 6" or so) noticed some square dogs for sale are 5/8" X 3/4".
Any advice on "Round" vs "Square" Dogs & the size of the square holes?
Do the dog holes in the vise face need to angle (3 deg) toward the table dogs?
Thanks
Dave
