Good evening everyone:
Need some help about picture frames...
I want to make what I call, milti-frames which can hold several different photos. I have no idea of how to design an dmake for all that matters. I have made several frames out of Walnut and then oiled the finish and I love the look. Now, I want to make a larger frame that would hold several photos and do not know how to..
Something like this, but I want to seperate the photos with wood inbetween not a matting? Hope you get what I mean and can help.

Thanks and take care

Hey, Dan. The link shows the pictures all the same size in the frame. How big are your pictures that you plan on using?

Hey Don:
Yea, I know, I could not find a sample of the frame I want to build.
Basically, I want to build a frame(s) that will hold 6-8 photos that are standard size.. say 3" x4" and run say three on top and then two and two more on the next rows down, if you get what I mean. I would buy or cut the matting for each photo. ALso, I would like to use walnut for the wood.
I will take a look this weekend to try and find a shot of what I want on the net and reply.
Thanks for the help and take care

Question, how do you attach the pieces for the two small photos on the botton feft? Do you use a brad nailer and if so, how do you prevent the wood from splitting?
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Take care

Hey Dan,
I doubt a brad nailer will split the smaller pieces. But if so, I would use epoxy. I'm a big believer in Gougeon. Used it many times before, and the joints will never separate.
Good luck, and let us know how it comes out.

Thanks and I will keep you posted.

Hey, Dan. I just got the time to make this crappy sketch. I've made something like you want before for muntins in glass doors. You may want to take a look at this thread to see how you can do it on a table saw. The jig is similar to doing box or finger joints. Just another method to consider.

Good luck and let us know how your project proceeds.
All the best, Don
