Has anyone switched from a 3 1/2" wide belt sander to a 4" wide one?
I'd like to know if it's worth the money, will it make sanding panel
glue ups a lot more level without the ocassional dip I get with
a 3 1/2" wide one. I'd like to hear some of your experiences.
Thanks:cool:

I'd be interested to know this as well. Dad's talked about getting one for some time now, but doesn't want to spend the money at the moment.

I can't see where a 1/2" more sanding belt is going to make that much difference.
As far as from my experience using a belt sander, dips and valleys are usually caused by not keeping the sander moving across the entire work piece or keeping the sander flat on the work piece.
